MEMBERSHIP ELIGIBILITY

As per Article III, Section 1 of the Temple Beth El Bylaws: "Temple Beth El is a Reform Jewish congregation. Any person who supports the purpose of the congregation may be approved for membership."

MEMBERSHIP CONTRIBUTION INFORMATION

Our members come from a range of backgrounds, and we know that contributions will vary. All contributions—financial and nonfinancial—are essential, and all are honored.

As a point of reference, if our budget were divided evenly among all households, a $2,500 annual contribution per household would cover our operational costs.

Membership contributions support many Temple activities such as:
  • Religious education (youth and adult)
  • Resources connecting us with the Union for Reform Judaism
  • Operational expenses (building, utility, and personnel expenses)
  • Programs and services
Membership contributions are payable at the beginning of each calendar year. Contributions for new members joining later in the year may be prorated.

If you have questions or would like assistance in determining your membership contribution, please reach out to Stefanie Kushner, executive director, at exec@tbemadison.org or 608-238-3123.
BUILDING FUND

Members make two financial commitments, one for an annual membership contribution and the other for a Building Fund pledge to support the ongoing maintenance of our building. Your Building Fund commitment is equal to your second year’s membership contribution, payable over three years.

CODE OF ETHICAL CONDUCT

Temple Beth El's Code of Ethical Conduct for members can be found at tbemadison.org/code.
