Opportunities for Giving

Make a Donation

The generosity of our community provides the fuel for Temple Beth El to fulfill its mission.  Your contributions ensure that we are here to help now and in the future. We welcome the opportunity to speak with you about your giving objectives and goals and how Temple Beth El fits into your plans.

Membership Contributions are our primary means of support. More than 70% of the operating budget comes from people just like you who understand the importance of providing the much need funding so that we in turn can provide for the spiritual, educational and social needs of the community.

Tribute Gifts- There is no better way to honor, commemorate or recognize your family, friends or colleagues than with a donation to Temple Beth El. Cards notifying the honoree are sent immediately. In addition, donor and recipient names are printed in our bulletin, which is published six times yearly.

Endowment Gifts ensure a perpetual stream of income to support programs and resources at Temple Beth El.  Johnson Bank serves as the manager of our restricted and non-restricted funds including the Yerusha Fund. In June 2017, the Board of Trustees passed the following resolution:

TBE accepts charitable bequests, charitable gift annuities, gifts of life insurance, retirement plan assets and IRAs. All legacy gifts where the donor has specified a restricted purpose, shall be used for the purpose intended.

Undesignated legacy gifts: 75% of all unrestricted legacy gifts shall be invested in the TBE Yerusha Fund, the disbursements from which will be transferred into the TBE cash reserves to support its annual budget. 25% will be invested in the TBE Board Designated Reserve Fund as a significant investment in our temple and utilized where it is needed most.

Named Funds

TBE has established that a $25,000 threshold is required for newly named funds which are held and accounted for separately.

Designated Giving

Sponsorships provide an opportunity to share your good name and let the community know two things: that you care about Temple Beth El and that a strong Temple benefits everyone.
