Sisterhood/Men's Club Dinner: Interfaith Organizing for Civic Engagement

Tuesday, December 17, 2019 19 Kislev 5780

6:00 PM - 8:00 PMSwarsensky Social Hall

Learn why it’s important for faith communities, especially the Jewish community, to be active participants in the democratic process. Get an inside look from Rabbi Bonnie Margulis at how Wisconsin Council of Churches and Wisconsin Faith Voices for Justice are working together to help interfaith communities make the most of the influential role they can play in the public square.

Find out how you can empower people most directly affected by public policies to lead as organizers in their own communities, how you can get involved to promote voter registration, and how to connect with people from other faith communities in the common goal of promoting civic engagement.

Everyone is welcome at this dinner sponsored by TBE Sisterhood and Men’s Club, so bring a friend or family member!

$19/person for dinner: Herb roasted chicken, vegetarian lasagna, or portobello mushroom (vegan); roasted red potatoes; green beans amandine; salad; cherry crisp.

Register online by December 10, or send a check for $19/person payable to TBE Sisterhood to Molly Fields, 129 N. Prospect Ave., Madison, WI 53726 (please specify choice of chicken, vegetarian lasagna, or portobello mushroom).

Please bring donations of new socks (men's, women's, or children's) to help the people served by Madison's homeless shelters stay warm this winter.
