6:30 PM - 10:00 PMZoom

Join us for an online viewing and engaging discussion of the movie “Out in the Dark,” in which a Palestinian and a Jew meet at a gay bar in Israel. For mature audience only.

The film, produced in 2012, portrays gay life in Israel at that time. The beautifully portrayed sexual scenes are both passionate and tasteful, exhibiting a depth of male love rarely viewed by the general public. Violent scenes, while shown with discretion, make it necessary for both partners to fear for their lives. Commitment is the prevalent theme. Differences in the status of Palestinians and Jews become painfully obvious as the movie progresses. The ongoing and continuing clashes between these two groups push us to question our own feelings and thoughts regarding the gay and transgender communities.

We will view the movie together online at 6:30 pm via Zoom.
