Join us for an online viewing and engaging discussion of “Ben-Gurion, Epilogue,” a historical documentary in which David Ben-Gurion shares his thoughts, feelings, and insights.

The movie begins with a list of the institutions that collaborated to make the film, followed by a description of the steps taken to produce it. Five years after Ben-Gurion withdrew from government, a film of his life was found in the Spielberg Institute, without a soundtrack. Next to it was a six-hour-long interview, given when Ben-Gurion was 82 years old, which previously had been used for research. Eventually the soundtrack was found at the Ben-Gurion home in the desert. The film was strung together, and his story emerged.

The documentary “Ben-Gurion, Epilogue” is a fascinating glimpse into the character and life of a nation-founding giant. What does he see when he looks back on Israel’s history? Believing that the Jewish people have a special role to play among the world's nations, Ben-Gurion shares his personal “report card” on Israel’s progress through the period of the ’67 war. Watch clips of his interactions with other famous historical figures as he answers with surprising candor the questions posed to him. And don’t miss the scenes where he stands on his head or sits next to Ray Charles at the piano.

Written and directed by Yar Mozer and starring David Ben-Gurion, the film was released in 2016. Run time: One hour 10 minutes.
