High Holy Day Food Drive: Yom Kippur involves fasting for one day, yet we know that millions of Americans feel this hunger regularly. Every year at this time, the social action committee seeks your generous contributions to fight hunger in our community. We distribute envelopes after services on Rosh Hashanah and collect them on Yom Kippur. Please make the checks payable directly to Second Harvest Foodbank and return the checks on Yom Kippur or send them to the Temple office. -

A holiday meal is beyond the means of those who struggle to buy weekly groceries. Every year before Thanksgiving, the Goodman Community Center collects food to help 3,500 families enjoy a full Thanksgiving meal with their loved ones. TBE’s Jewish educational program participates in a friendly grade-level competitionto see which grade level can collect the most food. We collect canned fruits and vegetables, cranberry sauce, broth, boxes of mac and cheese, boxes of stuffing, and aluminum roaster pans. Collection bins are in the coatroom. The grade that brings the most of their item will be presented with a certificate for a tree planted in Israel. -
