Conservative evangelical Christians in the United States have become strong supporters of the state of Israel. How old is this relationship? How deep does it go into the Christian community? And just as importantly, what are the motives behind this support? Daniel G. Hummel, PhD, will share his research on evangelicals and U.S.-Israeli relations, explaining the many facets of what is commonly known as Christian Zionism. He will discuss the history of Christian Zionism and the reasons for its prominence in today’s politics. Dr. Hummel is an honorary research fellow at UW–Madison and program curator for academic communities at Upper House, a Christian study center on campus. -
