High Holy Days Food Drive

All Day for 21 Days

Yom Kippur involves fasting for one day, yet millions of Americans feel this hunger regularly. Every year at Rosh Hashanah, we ask the congregation to remember those in our community without enough food by making a monetary contribution to support hunger-relief initiatives. Funds go primarily to Second Harvest Foodbank, which distributes millions of pounds of food each year in southern Wisconsin. In addition, the funds will support our hunger-relief efforts through community partners such as the Porchlight men’s shelter, Thoreau Elementary School, the Healing House, and the Goodman Community Center. During the High Holy Day season, donations can be made online at https://www.tbemadison.org/payment.php and choose High Holy Day Food Drive as the type. We will distribute donation envelopes after services on Rosh Hashanah and collect them on Yom Kippur, or they can be returned to the Temple office.
