Families with Young Children Friendsgiving Potluck and Challah-Making Extravaganza!

Thursday, November 21, 2024 20 Cheshvan 5785

5:00 PM - 7:00 PMSwarsensky Social Hall

We’re adding a special touch to our holiday festivities this year with a delightful challah-making workshop and potluck.

For the potluck dinner please bring your favorite vegetarian dish to share and indulge in a spread of everyone’s favorite dishes. Look for a signup for potluck items in your registration confirmation so we have a variety of entrée, sides, desserts, etc. There will be something for everyone to enjoy! Don’t forget to label your dish, including ingredients, and bring enough to share!

Julia Katz is graciously preparing dairy dough for everyone so we can practice our braiding skills together. Parents/guardians will help their kids roll out the dough, braid, or shape as they want, and of course add any extra flair and flavors such as sprinkles or chocolate chips. You’ll take it home to bake and enjoy for Shabbat the next night. Bring a baking sheet to take it home on, as well as your enthusiasm and creativity!

Enjoy festive activities and games to help us get to know each other, enjoy friends old and new, share gratitude and more. There’s fun in store for everyone.

Bring items to donate to the Goodman Thanksgiving Basket Drive or pick up a shoe box at the event to bring back filled with personal need items.

Please bring a dish for the potluck (remember to include a card with the dish’s name and ingredients), a baking sheet to bring your challah dough home on, an apron to keep clean during the challah-making workshop, and your smile and Friendsgiving cheer!

Let’s come together to celebrate the season of gratitude with great food, great company, and a little bit of Shabbat baking magic. We can’t wait to share this special evening with you! Please register by November 14 so we can ensure there’s plenty of space and supplies for everyone. See you there!
