Bike Ride and Learn to Save While Helping the Earth

Sunday, July 16, 2023 27 Tammuz 5783

9:00 AM - 10:30 AMWeinstein Community Court and TBE terrace

Start your day by learning from Kathy Kuntz, director of Dane County’s Office of Energy and Climate Change, followed by a bike ride around Lake Wingra or a walk to the Wingra Park playground or beach with friends.

The Environment and Climate Change Action Team is excited and honored to have Kathy Kuntz join us on the TBE terrace to give a short talk on how everyone can take advantage of new opportunities to save while helping the environment, through provisions in the federal Inflation Reduction Act. This act, approved in 2022, provides approximately $370 billion for clean energy and climate action projects for homes and businesses. Kathy will outline in detail how individuals can take advantage of grants and tax credits available, and associated timelines.

All are welcome to join us as we gather on the TBE terrace at 9:00 am to learn with Kathy Kunz. Our bikers will head west first, along a route that’s a little over six miles. Please bring your bike, helmet, and filled water bottle. You don’t need to join the bike ride if you come to learn, but you are welcome to! If we have enough walkers or kids, we'll have a group head over to the Wingra Park playground or take a short stroll to Wingra Beach and the surrounding area to appreciate the outdoors together.
