Join Madison rabbis and educators for our fifth year as we co-teach this cross-denominational Introduction to Judaism course. Sponsored by Beth Israel Center, Congregation Shaarei Shamayim, and Temple Beth El, the course will cover a wide range of topics concerning the fundamentals of Jewish thought, history, and practice over 16 sessions. Class begins on Thursday evening, January 6, and runs until May 5. It meets from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. This year we will offer it online using Zoom. However, the last three sessions will be in person at Beth Israel Center, Congregation Shaarei Shamayim, and Temple Beth El.

This course is open to anyone who is interested in learning about the basics of Judaism. It can stand alone as an adult education course, or it can serve as a prerequisite for conversion to Judaism. Often intermarried couples take this course together. Tuition (which does not include the cost of books) is as follows: Members of a Madison synagogue: $100 per person, $175 per couple. Nonmembers: $150 per person, $250 per couple. Undergraduate or graduate students: $50. Scholarships are available. Please contact Joy Zotalis at office@shamayim.org or 608-257-2944 for further information. Additional information, as well as online registration, can be found at shamayim.org/judaismintro
