A Family-Friendly Evening with Yid Vicious

Saturday, March 1, 2025 1 Adar 5785

7:00 PM - 9:00 PMSwarsensky Social Hall

The talented and versatile local klezmer group Yid Vicious will entertain us with a family-friendly concert.

Klezmer is Yiddish folk music for dancing and celebrating, and Yid Vicious has been spreading its infectious, original blend of freylekh (joyful) fun throughout the Midwest since 1995. The group has released five CDs, toured on three continents, and has received numerous awards for its unique blend of traditional and contemporary klezmer. The 7-member band includes Daithi Wolfe (fiddle), Greg Smith (clarinet), Anna Purnell (vocals and trumpet), Kia Karlen (horn and accordion), Matt Appleby (guitar), and Geoff Brady (percussion), with special guest Michael Kuharski (dance leader).

Audience members of all ages will be invited to join the fun during the second set, with brief dance instruction provided. Light refreshments will be provided following the concert. Hope to see you there!
