About Sisterhood

We Support Our Congregation

Sisterhood…
- Welcomes new congregational members into our Temple family
- Sponsors and hosts Oneg Shabbats after Friday evening services throughout the year
- Operates the Judaica/Gift Shop
- Organizes Food-A-Rama, an Election Day tradition for 50+ years, featuring a corned beef lunch, deli, and bakery
- Manages the Temple kitchen
- Contributes to special projects and improvements in the Temple and Religious School

- Sisterhood is part of the Women of Reform Judaism (WRJ) and its Midwest District. Through our membership in WRJ, Sisterhood…
- Advocates for progressive Reform values, especially on issues of civil rights, economic justice, religious freedoms, and the environment
- Through the YES (Youth, Education, and Special projects) Fund, provides scholarships for rabbinical and cantorial students, supports youth and social justice, and strengthens the Reform Movement in Israel and around the world
- Brings together women from around the world to learn from one another, develop personal relationships, create a joyful community of faith, and have fun!

Judaica/Gift Shop

The Judaica Shop provides lovely items relevant to Jewish life as a service to the congregation and the greater Madison Jewish community. In fact, we're the only Judaica shop in the Madison area! The shop sells kiddush cups, tallitot, mezzuzot, Shabbat candlesticks, seder plates, menorahs, dreidels, dreidels, kippot, memorial candles, jewelry, musical CDs, notecards, children's books, mah jongg items, and many lovely gifts, including many products from Israel or by Israeli artists.

The Judaica Shop is open during Religious School hours or by appointment.
