Racial Justice Action Team Survey

Dear Friends:

Thank you to everyone who participated in our racial justice discussions this summer, where we talked about what Temple Beth El can do to help our country move forward on racial issues.

Several important themes emerged from the discussions: we should follow the lead of communities of color, increase our understanding of the issues, be part of the struggle against systemic racism, and make TBE a more welcoming and inclusive place for people of color.

Based on the ideas we heard in our discussions, the Racial Justice Action Team has developed this survey to see how Temple Beth El members would like to be involved.

We are all at different places in our learning, experiences, and ability to commit our time. Some of these items we can do right now, while others will take more time or need preparation. Your responses will inform both our immediate and long-term actions.

We see the urgency for this work in the ongoing daily incidents, so we ask that you complete this survey by September 30, 2020.

Jewish tradition teaches that all of humanity is created b’tzelem Elohim, in the divine image, meaning that each person is due equal respect and dignity. We seek a community, a nation, and a world in which all structures and norms fully welcome and include people of color.

Thank you for being part of our continued racial justice efforts
