Temple Beth El believes that the Jewish camp experience is instrumental in building a child's Jewish identity. The Temple Beth El Camperships (Camp Scholarship) Program helps families in good standing with the cost of select summer programs.

By providing Camperships, we can offer financial assistance that enables our Temple Beth El youth to participate in a Jewish camp experience. The Temple Beth El Campership Program is a joint effort among long-established camp funds at Temple, the Rabbi's Discretionary Fund, the Cantor's Discretionary Fund, and TBE Sisterhood and Men's Club.

A recipient of Campership funds describes how this opportunity “has allowed our son to stay connected to his Jewish and camp friends whom he does not see much during the school year. Camp Shalom/NOBO has provided him with a sense of community ever since he was in kindergarten, and he looks forward to attending every summer. The assistance that we have been fortunate to receive for many summers has been so appreciated.”

This year:
Nine households applied to send a total of 12 children to four Jewish camps and Israel
The camps include URJ OSRUI, Young Judaea Midwest, Camp Interlaken, Camp Shalom, and Y’allah Israel.

  • The total amount requested by all households: $12,750
  • The total amount allocated: $8,400

We are grateful for the TBE community’s support of the Campership Program, helping families pay for this rewarding and lasting experience for our children.
