Increase in Membership Helps to Support Our Building

Temple Beth El has happily welcomed 41 new households since July 2025. It is wonderful to welcome new households to connect with all of us at TBE, whether through our Young Families programming, Religious and Hebrew School, worship, social justice programs, and community education. 

When a new member household joins TBE, they are asked to contribute to our Capital Maintenance Fund. The Capital Maintenance Fund supports large projects for our building. Recently, the fund was used to purchase new HVAC units and to fully renovate our parking lot. 

The calculation for new members' payment into the Capital Maintenance Fund is to pay one-third of their annual contribution in their second, third, and fourth years of membership. 

For example:
A new member joins in 2026 and contributes $2,400 to their annual Temple Community Contribution. 

In the following three years (2027, 2028, and 2029) that new member would be asked to give $800 in addition to their contribution, which would go to the Capital Maintenance Fund. 

The total expected contribution from new TBE member households to the Capital Maintenance Fund between July 1, 2025, and December 31, 2029, is approximately $94,000. 

Our new members contribute to the vitality, spirit, and growth of our community, and their donations provide financial stability to our foundation. 

Other donations that help support our Capital Maintenance Fund are the purchases of yahrzeit memorial and simcha plaques. 

When purchasing a yahrzeit memorial plaque ($360.00) for a loved one, you are honoring their memory and ensuring that they will be remembered in perpetuity as part of our Wall of Remembrance.

Purchasing a simcha plaque ($180.00) lets the TBE community be part of a celebration by commemorating a special occasion.

Donations from new members and from special purchases that are allocated to the Capital Maintenance Fund are an essential source of support for our TBE home.
