Fill ‘er Up! Baskets and Shoeboxes Meet Community Needs

TBE Religious School students once again came through for the Goodman Community Center’s Thanksgiving Basket Drive, collecting 407 food items— a full carload! Grade 4K was declared the winner of our friendly competition between the grades for collecting the most of their assigned item: 85 boxes of macaroni and cheese! The class will receive a certificate in their honor for a tree planted in Israel. Thanks to Jesse and Noah, who helped sort and load the items, and to Elsie, who did all the counting. In addition, the November Tzedakah of the Month raised another $2,120 to jump-start next year’s Thanksgiving Basket Drive!

TBE also recently “wrapped up” the Holiday Shoebox collection. We collected 92  boxes full of toys, snacks, warm socks, and personal products for clients of Nehemiah and FOSTER, a wraparound, nontraditional case management and counseling program for Dane County Families. Many thanks to the Young Families Committee, Religious School students, and others for their thoughtful contributions.
